Is there any way to keep past notifications up?

iOS5 is great so far. One question i have is there any way to keep notifications you have received on the notification screen, after you looked at it once?

i.e, SMS comes through, i check it out, switch to the Message app, back to notifications and everything has cleared. Is there a way to keep them around?

Not sure but I have to ask, what is the point or is it a personal pre fence?

Well, I haven't used it all that much so far, so I'm not sure if I really want this in the long run. BUT I did notice that I got a few texts and a missed call and the second I clicked on the message it took me to my text window, but when I went back to notifications, everything was gone and I was curious about what other texts came through in that order.

Interesting, now that you mention that it makes sense but if you swipe down don't everything come up anyway? So you pretty much are getting what you want - just not in the lock screen.

Could it be that you're mistaking lock screen alerts for the notification center? Lock screen alerts are entirely different than the notification center. You can have alerts show up in either/or or both. Lock screen alerts are gone as soon as you unlock the iPhone. But you can swipe down to look at your notification center. In your notification center, if you swipe a text to go to the iMessages app, the rest of your notifications should still be in the notification center.

I was actually wondering this too. Notification center should show your all your notifications in order and stay there, like as a history of what has been notified. thats what the impression i was getting from the ads and such. instead its just has the notifications and after you check once they're gone...

In the Settings Menu >> Notifications

You can set how many recent items to keep in the notifications list, per application (either 1, 5, or 10). You can also set whether you want to repeat notifications that you haven't yet acknowledged. You should be able to get it to do what you want by adjusting these

i think he basically wants it instead of saying "no new notifications" in the slidedown bar, just to have a history of the last notifications. That what I would want anyways...
