Is there any way to roll back to 10.3 at this point?

Like many, I have an iPhone 6 that has turned to complete trash since updating to iOS 11. This is so unbearably slow... loading camera takes like 30 seconds, everything is unresponsive, apps no longer working, reduced battery, etc. Hands down the most disappointed I’ve ever been in apple.

Is there any way to go back or has that ship sailed? I’m ready to throw this phone out the window and switch to Android, which I loathe and makes me feel sick saying, lol.
 
Sounds like you need to restore. I have several 6s in my family running iOS 11. None have those issues.

You are not helpful. You should really learn about the purpose of forums and find a new hobby.

I did a restore to no avail unfortunately. Guess this is what planned obsolescence feels like.

You are already ranting hyperbole and throwing your phone instead of doing search on this forum.
There are plenty of posts about the iPhone 6 vs iOS11.

I have a friend with the 6 Plus on iOS11, which is slower by default than a regular 6, and it doesn't take 30 seconds to open up the camera. Not instant, but not 30 seconds.

Did you restore as new, or backup.

Again. Multiple 6s running iOS 11, even a 5S. None of these issues. Sounds like it’s your device. It’s not planned obsolescence.

Delays in the range of 30 seconds to open apps and things of that nature seem to be somewhat different than that.
 
I would pursue Apple’s support options by way of telephone/chat or in person with a Genius Bar appointment. They are likely to give you the run around and perhaps even try to up sell you to a new phone but be persiatant, polite yet firm.

If you can, record evidence of the poor performance. Even better, compare it with a 6 on iOS 10 or one not suffering so badly on 11.

If they can’t resolve it, they may offer an at cost upgrade to a 6s or 7, or a free swap to a refurb 6, but that will require work on your part. They’re not going to do that work for you.

I suspect the severe problems can be fixed but it’ll always be stuck being laggier than iOS 10. That is the lesson websites like this should make a greater effort to teach around iOS upgrade time.

I guess that can apply just the same the other way around, bringing us back to reality where different people and devices can and do have different issues that affect things to different degrees at times.

I'm not sure it's lying necessarily, but more that a lot of people have very, very low standards and seemingly use the device much more slowly than others.

This was evident when iOS 7.0 came out and introduced 1.5-2.0 second input-blocking delays during/following any "animation". It was true across every device with 7.0 installed, yet there were tons of people around here saying they didn't notice it at all.

Then when 7.1 came out and shortened input blocking to around 1.0 second, everyone went on about how snappy it felt suddenly (even though still far worse than 6).

Low standards are the current Apple philosophy, seemingly.

Yes, but when you fresh install an OS on a 2 year old phone with 4 third party apps, 5 photos in the camera roll, no music or movies, and basic functions like swiping the springboard is laggy, then you know there is a problem...

There's no way to roll back to 10 but don't worry too much, 11.1 (currently in beta) is a LOT better and fixes a lot of the glitches and issues with 11.0. Some think it may be released as soon as today, but you can join the beta program and try it right away if you want.

In my experience 11.1 restored my phone to 10.3 performance levels. 11.0 was crap and I really should have completely skipped it.

11.1 wouldn't be the way that it is without 11.0 being out there.
 
If it's the IPP, then buy the 10.5. It comes with 10.3.2 in it.

At least the 256 GB wifi + cel (Space Gray) I bought from B&H.

I think it boils down to people having different tolerance levels when it comes to dealing with operating system lag with their older devices.

Part if is is that, but part of it is that there are some issues that some have that others don't and/or issues that some have to a much larger/worse degree compared to others (for whatever reason).
