I too have become extremely annoyed with this. At the very least badge notifications should sync between devices. So many apps I use I have to acknowledge the notifications on both my iPhone and iPad. And yes, I have iCloud enabled across devices.

I agree. It is very annoying to have to stop and spend time removing them on each device.

I noticed tonight (first night on my new iPad) that I’m getting notifications on my watch for messages to which I’ve already replied on my iPad. Pretty annoying tbh.

I turn off notifications on all but my primary device for those types of applications. So my iPhone which is with me 24x7 gets the notifications.
That's a good idea, may have to do the same which is unfortunate because when I go to bed, I tend to use my ipad for a while and would still want to receive any notifications during that time while my iPhone is on the charger.

i was under the impression that Apple introduced better notifications management a while ago but evidently that hasn’t happened.
seems like a very obvious oversight. The time I am spending deleting notifications on iPhone Ipad Mac and watch are ridiculous
hey but then again, they can’t even figure out how to update email Status for years. It’s good to see that there is a noticeable lag between reading an email on iPhone and seeing the same email being unread on iPad still and vice versa of course.

Have there been any improvements on this in recent months? I hate having to acknowledge the same notifications on my iPhone and Apple Watch. Very frustrating. iCloud should be smart enough to know when a notification has already been acknowledged and wipe it from the other device.

Nothing new in iOS 15. Still spending a big chunk of time on removing notifications on 4 devices every day

I believe this is also up to the apps to support. I know it works sometimes since I get a notification for Messenger on Watch and iPad at the same time but it disappears on the iPad when I then view it on the phone.

Most ideas have been covered - but here is what I do as a work-around with a 2 Mac, iPhone, iPad, Apple watch scenario:
I leave the notifications on, on most devices.
But... I turn them off the notification centre on all but my phone.
I also only make the banners persistent on my phone.
That way I don't have to clear any from my ipad, work MacBook or home iMac.
I turn off most notifications on my watch down to just the essentials. That is the one place I have to clear notifications a second time.
Apple.... Really. Please.

Yup. There are notifications, but what ends up happening is, Notification Spam. I don't need to know I earned a new reward at Chick-Fil-A on my watch or anywhere other than when I order Chick-Fil-A, as an example. I turned off all but message notifications and SkyBell on watch. (When someone is on my front porch.)

For some reason, I remember notifications syncing across devices. If Steve Jobs was still at Apple, I doubt this would be an issue.

Notifications on the watch is broken.
Especially annoying when the notification takes over and you cannot read the time..

This sort of sloppiness is somewhat unapple like

Notifications are a total nightmare throughout the whole Apple ecosystem. I think Zazoh nailed it by calling out notification spam. It's so bad at this point that I just ignore notifications for 3-4 days, then clear all without reviewing any of them. This is after I turned off the ability for most of my apps to even leverage notifications. I've heard rumors this will be overhauled in iOS 16 (and associated OSs across devices). Let's hope they get it right!

I have an iPad that I don't use often and it is a nightmare when you first turn it on and it goes through all the missed notifications that I already know about from my other devices. I don't turn them off because I want to actually know about them if I get one while using that iPad.

Notifications for iOS Messages do not update between my iPad and iPhone. I read a message on my iPhone, its notification is gone, then pick up my iPad and there’s the notification as if I hadn’t read it. I can’t even just open the app and get things updated, I have to tap on the specific message. Yet they do for Facebook Messenger and Gmail: read on one, no notifications on the other, don’t have to do anything, not even open the app.
If I delete a message on one, it’s deleted from the other, so that syncs. Why not the notifications?
It’s been going on for years. Yes, same iCloud, OSs up to date…
Once again, I hope some update will fix it, probably inadvertently, on Apple’s part.
