Basic is working great on my iPad 4 now on IOS 8.1.1. I have FlipControlCenter installed and there's a free flips witch toggle for it if you need to turn it off for a moment. It's located on this repo here http://cydia.myrepospace.com/baSic/

I purchased AdBlocker when I was on IOS 6, the last time it worked great. I've been disappointed with it since IOS 7 but stuck with it until IOS 8.1.1 because it slowed my web browser to a crawl.

I agree with caribsa. I have adblocker 2, and I can only use it for its youtube ad blocking. If I block anything else, it makes loading safari desktop pages horrible.

haven't had an issue with adblocker+ for iOS8

Lucky you. I paid the .99 cents to upgrade to IOS 8 and both Safari and Chrome browsers slowed to a crawl. It was just as bad as the ads. I can't believe how a free app such as Basic work better then a paid app, AdBlocker 2. I still have AdBlocker 2 in my purchase apps so if ever Basic stops working for me, I'll try it again but for now I'm pretty much happy with Basic.

Basic uses the host file by the way since the flipswitch toggle is Hosts File Flipswitch. It even blocks Cydia ads, which makes me happy since an ad from Cydia took over Cydia until it forced me to click the button to go to the App Store. I can't believe those type of ads are allowed in Cydia!
