I figured their would be, but I'm having a tough time finding out how.
The phone has a clean ESN. I plan on using it on metro pcs

There is no software unlocks for the 4S.
For metro you could flash it to work on their network but not sure of how and if its 100% doable and what works and what don't. I heard data doesn't work.
Try to go to a metro authorized dealer and see if they can do it for you.

That would be your best bet then. See if they can flash it onto their network.
I think texts and calls work but not carrier data. Wifi data would work but ask when you get there to see if they can get metro carrier data to work.

I just called them, and apparently data will work.
But the phone must be unlocked before I take it in to the metro pcs store.

Not possible for your particular device.
I don't think the rep you spoke knew much.
A Verizon 4S is not unlocked and cannot be unlocked for any US carrier. You can ask Verizon to unlock it for international use only. Still wont work in the US. Tell him what model and what carriers 4S you intent to use on Metro.

I'm sorry, I failed to mention it was an AT&T iPhone 4S
Not verizon.

Oh its an att iphone?
You fooled me cause you said clean ESN so that automatically usually means CDMA phone.
GSM phones like the AT&T iphone don't use ESN's. They use IMEI's.
I think metro with its merger with Tmobile now uses tmobiles gsm network to connect and run off.
So you will need an unlocked gsm iphone. If your iphone is locked to AT&T it wont work. You can purchase an IMEI unlock for it but they're around $100-120 I heard.

Ok then bring it to them and see what they can do for you.
I don't know why they would need it GSM unlocked since their network is not GSM anyway but they should be able to get you more details.

Sorry about the confusion!

Yea apparently they use SIM cards now.
They have improved since merging with tmobile.
Thanks for the help!
