Look guys, Im getting a MBP SR 2.4 Ghz Glossy.

All i read about in this forum is this yellow screen. Is it so unbearable really that you cant use the MBP? Or will I enjoy though its just a little yellowish? Does changing colour profile help a bit? Any difference between the glossy and matte screen in this issue?

The yellow is not a problem with all MBPs. You should not have the problem. If you do, call apple and have it replaced. If you see a yellow tint when viewing from an angle, this is normal. When looking at the screen normally, you will/should have a perfect looking screen.

It is not that all of us who have the MBP has a yellow tint on our screen when using it normally.

The majority of them do not have the yellowing problem, if yours has a problem you are free to take it back to the store and trade for a good one, so long as you are under warranty.

that said, I am happy with my MBP, except that I got it yesterday and had filled the 160gb hdd in under six hours. Now I have some cleaning to do :p

I have a 2.2 SR MBP and I'm beyond happy. If my screen has the yellow tint, then I haven't really noticed (I haven't seen what the yellow tint looks like, so I'm unsure as to how drastic the yellowness is). No problems at all.

i absolutely love mine... no yellow tint, got it the day it came out.... best apple notebook so far. Well okay there is a problem.... since the screen is so bright, the light sensor is very reactive, especially in a dark setting. It drives me insane how mbp dims/brightens depending on the color of background on web pages.

it's really annoying when you are used to the dim light, then suddenly when the web page's bakcground turn white, the mbp thinks that its day light out, turns up the brightness of the screen, thus blinding my vision....

:D

I've actually got spoiled by the high brightness of the screen practically off the bat, my old monitor is about half as bright, but after using it on full-brightness anything lower just seems unacceptable :p

I also got my 2.2 glossy the day it came out and I agree with all you say. I have disabled the sensors so I don't get all those funky level adjustments but I went back to the original configuration since the adjustments actually help 8/10 times.

actually another problem is the hiss from the audio port. there is a lot of interference.

What you read on here represents a miniscule percentage of owners...and generally people with problems will post.
These machines are amazing. I’ve had no problems at all.

I have the 2.4 15" matte with the LG screen. I upgraded it to 4 gigs of ram and run a 23" ACD off it. I love it. I have only ever "heard" the fans when leaving Photobooth open for an extended period of time, and they were much quieter than my old Powerbook's. The viewing angles of the screen are tricky... very sensitive, but at the right angle the screen looks great.

I have the MBP 2.4 ghz and have not had any problems with it in the 2 months I have had it. I cant get over how stable the os x is compared to windows. Its a joy to use.:D Jump in ;)

Ok lets say that you get a perfect mbp..you probably wouldnt post in fourms..and why would you?! duh! you have no problems...
if you get a mbp with a yellowish screen or whatever issue..you would for sure post here....so just people with issues post in the threads..it doesnt mean that everyone with a mbp isnt happy right?!

I've had my MBP 15" Matte SR since Monday and mine is fine. I notice a slight yellow tint if viewed at a sharp angle. Other than that, it's been a breeze. I love it.

Thumbs up!

The new MBP is a fantastic computer! I absolutely love mine. It's fast, beautiful, and makes all my PC-lugging coworkers jealous! :D

As a new MBP owner, I got mine last week and I don't regret it. The matte screen is perfect, no yellows exceot at an extreme angle but who views their screen like that? I am going to remove half the apps it came with because I have no use for them though.

Buy a MBP now!!!

Got my new MBP a week and a half ago. Im extremely happy. Its an amazing laptop, and so far I've had no problems.

Apple has the best customer service. period. There is not one other computer company id rather deal with. They are friendly and courteous and are willing to make sure you have no problems with your purchase.

Yep...I got my new MBP SR 2.2 last week and its been perfect. I've already started building a workstation in my home office that will include:

23" External Screen
A stand for the MPB or Dock
1TB External HDD
Sound System

And for the MBP, an additional 2MG RAM. After all this, I should be set for several years ;)

I am very happy with my first foray into the Mac world!!!
