Is there anyway to get notifications in the status bar until you check it?

Basically where a little Tapatalk icon stays in the status bar until you check your app or is this not possible?

It's what I use to put an icon in the status bar for apps that do not normally generate an icon in the status bar.

Libmoreicon is a dependency above iOS 9.1 though I think (instead of libstatusbar). Absolutely no idea if it works in iOS 10 though.
