To close my lid, but let the macbook run? I know I could just dim the screen, but I'm wondering if this is an option? I've checked everywhere, but can't find it.

People with Macbooks seem to have the ability to do it while using an external monitor, keyboard and mouse.

My 4 year old Smell laptop could do it.

I see no reason for it not to.

It will with external monitor, keyboard and mouse, while plugged in. That's the way I'm running my MBP while at home. 20" ACD, BT kybd/mouse.

Thank you sir. :)

I toss my hat in for InsomniaX as well... but you should be careful about doing something intensive on the machine with the lid closed; Doing so may cause heat issues with the lack of ventilation.

I've run mine doing video encoding and compared temps with lid open and closed. The difference is only a degree or two at most (F).

I have mine on a CoolPad, so there's plenty of air flow underneath.
