Is there really an thicker glass on the new 12.9" iPad Pro 2021? Causing the gap, as mentioned in this review, and why?

yup, seen a few places report it. it's thicker and the edges aren't as flat. it's apparently not too good for writing/drawing.

yeah it's a bit like "not completely laminated", which is one of the prices to pay for mini led

Because it’s laminated too, the only explanation for the gap, can be a thicker glass.

Yes, the Mini-LED screen is thicker than the LCD screen in the previous iPad Pro.

Shouldn’t the image appear on the surface of the lcd screen too, backlighted now by mini-led? Why is there a visible gap?
