i'm wondering if there's an app to help you find concerts around your area?

i moved to LA less than a year ago and still can't seem to find a good place to find concerts. growing up in chicago i always knew where to look. figured maybe there was an app to help me out.

There are a few apps, but none of them really worked well for me. I eventually just signed up for a free SonicLiving.com account, and it's great.

JamBase

I've been using JamBase. [website] [app]

Had some minor troubles but generally it works pretty well. You can look at everything in your area or just your favorites, plus be alerted by email when a specific band announces a nearby show.

Are you kidding? Unless you're talking about Louisiana, pick up an LA Weekly. It's loaded with concert information.

Yeah, second LA Weekly; you can pick one up at any record store or coffee shop, etc. Their web site isn't great, but: http://www.laweekly.com/calendar

I also find concerts using the iLike music app on Facebook. Haven't found a decent iPhone app yet...

iConcert Cal is in the App Store for $2.99. It is the same app that exists for the iTunes on the Mac. It looks at the artists in your music library and tells you when/where they are playing near you. It syncs with the iPhone app and allows you to buy tickets as well.
