Is there such a thing as "Apple Friendly" Automobiles?

I am shopping for a new car.

Cars have recently been very innovative with the newest technology.

Is there such a thing as certain automobiles being more "Apple Friendly" than others?

Which cars have the best built in "Apple Friendly" technology?
 
I love my Volvo for iPod / iPhone integration. The newer models offer it as a stock option, and for certain older models there's a nifty little aftermarket box that emulates the factory option of a minidisc changer; charges your iPod, allows control thru the stock HU, and displays track info.
 
The Nissan Altima has great iPhone integration, but that may require their optional audio package, which may require a higher trim package.
 
Research

So it seems like I have some research to do.

I am surprised though that Audi and Volkswagon would be thought of as having the best Apple friendly cars. I will have to check on CNET to see what they think.
 
The new Citroen C3 I rented recently could do hands free calls over bluetooth but also play songs on it through the car stereo. Basically you can just get in the car, make calls and play music without taking the phone out of your pocket at any moment. Very cool.

Years ago my 2000 MBZ S class could do that and a whole lot more.

My new 2011 MBZ S class has so many features I'd be writing for an hour. All without any Apple involvement, thankfully :)
 
I've rented lots of cars, and all had the iPhone integration through the cable. this one was the first I saw over Bluetooth.
 
I made my VW Fox 'Apple Friendly' by getting a small FM transmitter that fits into the cigarette lighter jobby. Now I can have music and calls on my move.
 
It is very easy to buy an aftermarket stereo from the likes of Pioneer, Sony or JVC that has full iPod and iPhone connectivity. I have a JVC one - it has a proper Apple dock connector and I can control my iPhone from the head unit and it charges while I drive.

It was about £100 - something to think of when the new cars can add ten times that much for the same functionality.
 
Your Mac, iPhone, or iPad would have come with a couple of white :apple: stickers. One of these should be applied to the rear of your vehicle to make it "Apple-friendly."

What, you didn't think they were there just so the world's most highly capitalized corporation could get free advertising from its customers, did you?

I assure you, they serve an important purpose...of some sort.

Not my car. Only phone it'll work instantaneously with is my Note 3. It starts playing music right away which is what I want. I'd love to replace my stock radio but none of the after market stereo systems seem to work 100% with my steering wheel controls.

When I get a new car someday (Far away) I'll be looking into this again. For now though, my routine is perfected.

Edit: It's a 2013 Toyota Yaris.
