I have a 8GB 3rd gen nano. I filled it up to where it had 20KB free. So, i went to listen to a song, played just fine, but the it froze up twice so i deleted some songs, (to about 250MB free) and now it works just fine. So, is there such thing as too much music? :p

I actually think there is such a thing. I don't know about SSDs, but I know hard drives perform better when they're not filled to the brim with stuff. My assumption is that SSDs are the same. I've noticed my SSD is not a huge fan of being at max capacity, but I'm most affected if I want to work in Photoshop.

That being said, it is hugely possible that you need to free up a small amount of space going forward. I have absolutely no technical data to back this opinion of mine up. ;)
