I absolutely love the new iMacs, but 24” is a HUGE downgrade for monitor size. Why would they do a big event and just focus on basic Macs and tablets?

Or are they trying to leverage a new 30” into a M2 type deal that’ll pair with new 16” Pro’s in the lineup. A middle ground between this and the iMac Pro.

The price is outrageously cheap, there’s nothing like it in the market. It’s back to the 1999 era of reinventing what a PC could look like.

By the look of how the M1 transition so far, "consumer" level product uses the same M1 chip, I'd imagine "enthusiast" level product would use the next version/generation chip and will be released around the same time and probably use the same chip, then the final "pro" level product - Mac Pro, will have a different chip maybe more customisable? I think that will be released at the end.

24" iMac probably sells more units than any future larger screen iMac because of the price. You can tell because it comes in 7 colors like the Macbook Air or iPhone.

I hope by WWDC 2021 we will see a 32" iMac 6K with mini LEDs like the 2021 iPad Pro.

I was expecting a M1x for the Mac mini, four TB port Mac mini & Macbook Pro 13", Macbook Pro 16" and the iMac.

I think Apple is trying this again.

I was ready to place an order today, but I too am holding out for the bigger model. Replacing my 27" with 23" just isn't an option. Especially working at home now.

Hopefully this fall sees a new larger iMac with an M2 and no white bezel. Still, I also wouldn't be surprised if this is it this year for new iMacs. They seem to be giving the new laptops a full year (at least). I think they're just testing the waters. They probably learned a lot from current M1 owners that will be useful when designing the 16". I wouldn't be shocked if they gave the iMacs a year to see how the lower end machine is working out before re-doing the larger size.

I'm hoping for a new machine this fall, but wouldn't be surprised if it's next year some time.
