Not sure they'll update it at the September event since it's going to be jam packed with iPhone news. However, I do think they'll update it before the end of October with the A5 processor and software update. Same price and they won't keep the current model.

I think they want to keep all their iOS hardware in sync using the same basic hardware (iPhone, iPad, iPod touch and Apple TV).

I'm very eager for a 1080p ATV3 as well. That, and the announcement of 1080p movies in iTunes. Hopefully they do have time to squeeze it in the show.
