I’m looking to get more organized in my life and come across this app due to the high ratings it has on the App Store. In Canada the price is 29 dollars.

Does anyone have this app and has it helped you ?

Have you explored free options like Apple’s reminders app already?

What will be your use case? Just reminders or will you plan projects or what are you trying to achieve?

No I haven’t , I just ended up purchasing it. On skillshare they have a course on how to get the most out of the app

I bought both iPhone and iPad apps, and I was going to buy the Mac app, so it was a quite big investment. After nearly six months of use, I wasn’t able to use Siri with it, and the Watch app wasn’t compatible with two watches. And, at least six months ago, it wasn’t compatible with Watch Cellular (now it should). I switched to Apple Reminders: perfect Siri integration, iPad-iPhone-Mac apps perfectly integrated with the OS, on Apple Watch Cellular it works like a charm. I would never go back.

I have bought Things 3 for all platforms (iOS, iPadOS and macOS) and use it daily. It is great. Sure, it’s not cheap, but I just love it. It is designed really great, with great attention to detail. It’s one of those amazingly done apps that follows Apple trends (iPadOS version just got great pointer support and it already has great keyboard support, for example).

With that said, I have no idea if you’ll like it, choosing a todo app is a very personal thing. I can also recommend Apple Reminders, TickTick, Todoist, Microsoft Todo, 2do, etc.

Things 3 is a great app. If you want THE BEST — and care about design — then I think it's very worth it.
I have it both for Mac and iOS — though use it almost entirely on my Mac

I use Apple Reminders for both work & personal, and integrate it with my Alexas using IFTTT. I have lists shared with others also. In my opinion there is not a need for another ap or paid app. Apple Reminders has everything is you make it work for you. I use #example in the notes for easy searching. You can also share notes links into Apple Reminders.
So my breakdown is if you use a lot of default apple apps, stick with Reminders, if you use third-party apps then go with Things 3. But they all have pros & cons and none are perfect.

It’s an awesome app. I use it both on my iPhone, iPad, Mac, and Apple Watch. It has tons of features that Reminders are missing, but is also missing a few that Reminders has (e.g. location notification).

Biggest downside is of course that it’s a separate buy on all platforms. Especially expensive on the Mac.

I am using Apple Reminders at home. For work, I am on a PC and limited to what apps I can install. MS Outlook Tasks was pretty decent for most things but then they moved us to gmail and it sucked ever since.

I had Things 2 for Mac, iPad and iPhone (including Apple Watch). Then they shut down the sync server and I had to consider whether I wanted to buy Things 3. I do find the Getting Things Done system works for me. But I decided I couldn't afford to buy all three versions particular since Things 3 doesn't run on my Apple Watch and one of my two Macs (whereas Things 2 ran on everything). So I just got it for iPhone and iPad.

I have all three versions. I've used it since release. I've found myself reverting back to the stock reminders app because I like the watch features better. Things3 is great. I just don't need all that power especially for what I've invested in it. I'm also wary of the inevitable subscription that seems to be creeping into most of my favorite apps.

I’ve been an OmniFocus user for years. I’m probably under utilizing it, frankly, but I’ve been quite happy with it and the watch integration it provides. OmniGroup is a stand up developer with really good support. I’ve never tried Things though, so can’t compare.

Reminders has come a long way since I started with OF though. I haven’t used it much, except for a few shared lists— a feature I wish OF had.
