Is this a good deal on a PB G4 Ti?

So, I might be buying a broken PowerBook G4 today and I was wondering what you guys think. Please help if you can with the following questions.

First of all, the owner "lost" the power cord, so I need to know if my Rev. D PowerBook G4 power adapter will work with this machine.

Second, it's model number is A1025 and I'm trying to figure out what the specs could be at worse.

Third, the screen is busted, someone sat or stepped on it apparently, so does this machine have an external display port of any kind?

So, assuming I can bring my PowerBook G4 power cord to test that it at least powers up, is this thing worth $75? I'm more than happy to use it with an external display if that is a possibility.

It's the last generation of the TiBook, 867MHz or 1GHz. It has a DVI port.

If it was working properly, it'd probably be worth about $350 right now, perhaps slightly more on eBay or if it was in fantastic condition.... It's not half bad. If you were to replace the broken parts, you'd probably be at the cost of a functional one. But if you used it as is, yeah, I guess you could do some things with it.

bring a small projector with you (if you have one) they are common nowadays you might be able to borrow one, especially from little kids, my niece and nephew own a little 'torpedo' thats basic enough to see if its loading properly.

This things got quite the specs for $75. Check it out...

1Ghz G4 w/ 1MB L3 Cache
1GB SDRAM
60GB HD
Superdrive
Built-in AirPort
FW400
OS 10.3.9

And the case is in perfect condition, just needs a new panel in the display. I wonder what I can find one for...


Anyways, I'm pretty happy with this purchase. The display looks every bit as good on my 20" LCD as when I have my Rev. D PB hooked up to it.

i would say that if you know what youre getting yourself into, go for it.. its that simple

Looks like you came out near the top of the range in terms of specs. You can get the display on eBay -- seems to be around $150 if you don't shop around (probably can be had for cheaper). The hinge parts are available there also, if you want them. Enjoy!
