Profiles can change, affect, remove, install, etc. a variety of things on a device, so you want to know what the profile is and what it does before installing it.

This link is good.
I just installed the tvOS 12 beta profile from it two days ago. The v11 had expired. (Still running iOS 9.3.5). Zero issues. Everything works perfectly on iPhone 6+.
