Prototype imac?

I was watching Bridget Jone's diary, and saw an interesting mac computer being used. I have never seen one like it - it looks like a hybrid crt and lcd imac. Can anyone explain what it is?

Thanks

Hmm...I too am interested.

I was thinking one of Apple's Displays, but I couldn't find anything that looked like that(didn't look for too long, maybe I made a mistake)

If they had that monitor before the iMac g3's then why didn't they use it instead of a CRT. Would have looked even cooler with a LCD. But i guess cost was a factor as well  Any way, thats pretty cool!

it was not so much the cost , it was more a thing of quality , you have to remember in 1997 the picture quality of the crt was far superior then what you got from a lcd screen of that time and yes the crt was cheaper , so you got a better display and the imac g3 stayed affordable
and the picture quality of a crt is still good and you need to spend really a lot on a lcd to get one that can match the crt quality
i would love to have this 21"studio crt ..maybe there is enough room inside somewhere for a mini
