Im trying to sell my 11.6 macbook air on craigslist. I got this email that seem suspicious:

Thanks for your response.I'm okay with the price and the only thing
left is if its in a good condition because its gonna be presented as a
gift to a cousin so that's very important to me.If all is in good
shape then kindly get back to me with your full name and address in
this manner so that i can go sent out the money to your address ,

Name
Address
City
State
Zipcode

Guess this will help make this transaction move faster cos the payment
will be sent out to you through The United States Postal Service
(Express Home Delivery Service) in which payment will get to you as
soon as its been sent out.So urgent response is needed as its needed
to be sent out in some days time. One more thing please no scam.

Thanks

I dont know if this is real or not

sloppy english in the message is a dead giveaway.

CL clearly says only deal in person face-to-face.

These scams are so common that it's hard to believe anyone falls for them.

I would buy and ship things on Craigs list, no problem.

You have to be able to read people. For me it's easy as i'm EXTEMELY SUSPICIOUS AND..... PARANOID!!! :D

My kind have noooo problem with this......so far ......gulp

No seriously, i've bought stuff and had it shipped to me. You talk to the person. Obviously there's some question with this deal so you might want to pass (don't do it).

There's going to be a risk anyway, but I would say if it feels good the probability that your going to have a problem is low (maybe 10 %, depending on how you much you vet them)

It's a scam. I'm trying to sell my macbook 2007 on CL and every other day i get something like this. Out of 12 emails, I've had only 1 that's legit.

I always follow the rule of local cash sales only. You never hear from those ppl again when you say that.

I buy and sell on Craigslist all the time. There are many scammers on there. One thing I've found is to always delete emails that don't sound right. Also, any real buyer will never - never - be that upfront in giving it up. Real buyers want to know more about what you're selling (photos, info, etc).
