Is this an attack site? If not, how legal are software items?

Hi all,
this spam arrived and for some reason I just had to check it out. Sorry for posting it here, but I'm fairly inexperienced with web stuff and am wondering if this is what they call and 'attack' site. My FF3 browser went really slow once I hit this site... and I freaked wondering if I had finally been sucked in by attack spam.

So venture at own risk...

otherwise... how legal are these Adobe CS3 suites sold online like this? Is this a total money theft-scheme or are they actually selling an illegal product?

No, that's not a spam attack, just a spam message. I personally never trust any site that a spam message tries to lead me too.

Spam attacks are generally when a script kiddie has a script that automatically fills out forms on your site and posts them with links that go to some spam site. These attacks are generally done on comment forms and feedback forms. The attack is on the web server, not an individual.

It is so cheap because they are selling OEM lisences. If you get your Mac/PC with CS3 installed, that will have an OEM lisence (sold in large volume).

You should never ever buy anything through spam emails as you are simply promoting it.

And yeah, the software will be pirated for sure.

"OEM licences" is mostly just another name for pirated software.

There are a few exceptions (such as Windows) but not many at all.

Thanks all... I was curious as to why my browser was so slow when I looked at the site.

The email contained the url in a picture so that my email rules couldn't be set up to eliminate the url keywords —*(thereby getting rid of that spam)

It just had a picture of the url, saying 'type this in manually' and because it is a repeating spam I seem to be vulnerable to... no matter how many times I click on junk... I think I'll have to set up the rules manually around deleting any emails with 'type this in manually'.
