Other Is this an iPhone 2G Prototype?

I found this on eBay early this year and decided to buy it as I recognised it as being a rare iPhone. It runs the skankphone operating system (not the app form, it boots straight into the skankphone OS). The serial number suggests the phone is from 2007 which would mean it’s not a real prototype but it does weigh 10g more than the original at 144g which is reflective of a prototype device, however there’s no special etchings on the back. Is anyone able to tell me what I actually have? I can’t find any tutorials as to how to download the skank OS without the app which leads me to believe its real but I really don’t know. I think the box is definitely real, that’s all I’m pretty sure on.

Kinda hard to tell with just the one picture. Can you snap a few more? It would be helpful to see the back, sides, bottom, etc.

You mention needing to download the OS so I'm assuming it doesn't boot. What happens when you turn it on?

no it does boot. Sorry don’t think my explanation was great. Here are some more images. It boots straight into skank OS is what I meant, doesn’t use the app on the iOS springboard to launch like some that I’ve seen.

Unfortunartely no, this is not a genuine prototype. The serial number indicates this phone was made in 2008, which is after the official release (prototypes are always made before the final release). It's possible to take normal, non-prototype 1st gen iPhones and replace the OS with the Apple internal one. This phone was either modified by some user in this way, or it was a warranty unit sent to a factory where they flash the internal OS for testing purposes and somehow it got out.
