I've heard good things about the WD drives and I want to make sure this is the right one:

I understand I can get it cheaper online but I'm impatient and would rather walk in today and grab one :)

I have an early 2009 base 15" Macbook Pro. Would this drive suit me well? I'm looking to split between OS X and Windows. I do development in Windows so I'm a little concerned that I should be going for a 7200 rpm drive instead.

What do you think? Thanks.

This is perfect actually and the 7200 RPM would be nice but it does cause vibration in the machine. I know someone who is using this exact drive and they have a windows partition and seem to be quite pleased with it.

I wouldn't hesitate.

Thanks Jessica; I think I'll pull the trigger later today.

avoid WD Scorpio Blue if your putting it in a new MB or MBP

Don't do it.

Read this thread before you buy , especially post # 44 (and others) ...

That's the retail version of the drive everybody on here is recommending. I picked one up for myself from Best Buy last week when it was on sale for $99.99. (For the same instant gratification reason you have.) I haven't had any noise/clicking issues with it though. *knock on wood* It seems to be slightly louder than the stock 160GB Fujitso drive it replaced but it's barely noticeable.
