Long story short, my Samsung Galaxy S3 died overheated (went up on smoke literally), with Rogers Wireless in Canada, they will not give me an upgrade for less than $200 early fee + cost of new iPhone ($400 total). Never should have left Apple to begin with.
My brother was visiting from Sweden and he brought his old iPhone 4S with a smashed back and crappy battery.. no problem I was just going to buy a replacement battery/back and do it myself for like $20. He was with the "telia" provider...
Once he gave it to me, I plugged it in did a full reset/firmware update yesterday, Plugged in my SIM.. Instantly it reads I have full signal + 3G (Great!)
Along with "The SIM card that you currently have installed in this iPhone is from a carrier that is not supported under the activation policy.... etc"
So this was new since I last owned an iPhone, I thought even if it was locked I could just jailbreak it and be on my way.. But to even be able to use the latest jailbreak it requires me to actually get into the phone to change some setting before hand which I can't do..
Any help? thanks.. Don't have a lot of cash otherwise I would have just paid the $400 and got a new one. And the cheapest Telia IMEI unlock I can find is like $70 and who knows if i'll get scammed.
