Hey everybody. So I have two IDE hard drive laying around and I want to but them in a nice external FW800 enclosure. I like this one from MacSales. http://eshop.macsales.com/item/Other World Computing/MEFW912AL2/

However it doesn't state anywhere (that I can find) about whether it houses IDE or SATA hard drives!

If anyone knows and could help me out, that would be appreciated. I will call them tomorrow if no one knows. Thanks.

P.S. I know this should be in the peripherals but no one ever goes in there!

I'm pretty sure that the Oxford 912 chipset is for IDE/ATAPI drives, and not SATA.

Yeah although it doesn't say anywhere that is what I am getting. Anyone have any experience with these things?

They look pretty nice and will match my Mac Pro :D Only thing is there is that Oxford is working on a UB. :(

If you go to this page for Detailed instructions http://eshop.macsales.com/tech_cent...mat/raid/OWC_912_Config[1]_files/image005.png and scroll down you'll see this image

It says under Master/Slave IDE Device 1, and 2 so there is your answer. Nice enclosure BTW
