Newest release.

The graphics card is 1GB and not 512MB as the previous generation.

If it helps any, that's exactly the system I just bought. Seemed like a very decent price.

I'd be interested if you could tell the difference from a new one?

I have a 24" C2D white iMac and I keep holding on without upgrading as, being blunt, I don't need to upgrade for what I use it for, but I do use it a lot so over four years it's more than paid for itself IYSWIM.

Nope.

I'm in the USA, and compared as well as I could the specifications of the machine I bought and the one that was offered new in the USA store.

The only thing I noticed was a decent enough savings to buy the refurbished one. Same ATi graphics, same 7200 1 TB drive, same memory, same resolution, everything that I could find at the time was the same.

The refurb was also shipped for free, so the bottom line realisation of savings was very nice.

What I'm about to say is entirely anecdotal, but somebody told me the only reason he could think of that a high number of i7 27" with ATi 5*** graphics would be refurb would be to solve the monitor whine issue on a minority of machines. So I'm hoping my chances of getting a monitor whine are reduced to nil. :)

Do you think it'll come with iLife 11?

I only ask as the refurb store still shows iLife 09 and I assumed they dropped a DVD or voucher in the box or something?

I would imagine it will come with iLife 09 installed and as you say iLife 11 will be dropped into the box.

Do it, man. I just found the same deal (except in the US) and just went ahead and bit the bullet. I'll let you know how it is :D

I also purchased that same model on Sat. Oct 9th through the Apple store in Canada, it was delivered to me on Wed. Oct. 13th via Fedex from California. I was thinking about a couple of other refurbs (2009 i7 2.66, 2010 i5 2.8) but decided to get the best available at the time.

The iMac I received was pristine, no way to tell it was not a new unit. It works great with no issues at this time. Go for it!!
