I would get the real one, their start are for lower priced items.
$1250 can get you a new MacBook from  and peace of mind.

I do not have experience with Swappa, so others can chime in, but I have heard good things about them from friends that both buy and sell there. It looks like a very good deal, so make sure you have payment protection.

Does having Paypal help? I believe that that is the only method of payment you can use on Swappa.

I've used Swappa before and it's always been fine, made probably 8-9 purchases there in total over the years. I did once get a used iPad that stunk of smoke, but I just messaged the seller, alerted Swappa, and it got returned/refunded pretty easily. This seller also seems to have a good reputation and this seems to be ~250+tax off the price of a new one. I'd risk it if I were in your shoes.

Yes Paypal protects, at least here in US. As boss above me said, same as I have been told by people I trust, it is worth it. In my opinion, anyway.
