I regularly see good deals on Mac Pros in my area. The one I am looking at right now has two Dualcore CPUs and two videocards, 4gb of RAM, and a 1tb hard drive for $750. I am thinking of swapping out the GPUs and putting in the 5770 from apple for some gaming on bootcamp. Do you think this machine is worth the price it is at? I don't need the best performance as I can just upgrade the RAM later down the line, I am just looking for a machine that can run all the OS X programs I need and do some fairly decent gaming on the bootcamp side. Thoughts? Thank you!

is this a 1,1 or 2,1 MacPro. My 3,1 MacPro has Xeon processors.

Model Name: Mac Pro
Model Identifier: MacPro3,1
Processor Name: Quad-Core Intel Xeon
Processor Speed: 2.8 GHz
Number Of Processors: 2
Total Number Of Cores: 8
L2 Cache (per processor): 12 MB
Memory: 12 GB
Bus Speed: 1.6 GHz

Not saying it is not a good buy at $750 for the unit you are looking at, only that your options to upgrade, expand and run more recent versions of OS X could be limited.

@ tony

it's a mac pro 1,1 coz all 3,1 are either 1x quad or 2 x quad.

@ vegan

nope not worth it your options will be too limited hardware wise unless you'll gonna put up a museum later on.

Doesn't seem horrible I guess...

I would probably save that money, and put it into a newer model.
