Also, CanadaRAM, do you know anyting about the quality of dealram.com?
What would be your recommedation from this
site
(Game friendly RAM would be helpful. WoW player
)
DealRAM (and RAMseeker) are not a brand or a memory seller -- they are search engines for prices only and refer you to a variety of sellers who participate. Problem is some sellers "game" the system - they offer substandard RAM at the lowest price to get the best ranking on the 'board, then they suggest you may want to buy their "premium" RAM instead if you want reliability.
There's no such thing as Game-Friendly RAM in a Mac. Despite sellers' claims to the contrary, every 100% compatible module in a Mac will run at exactly the same speed. The Mac sets the memory buss speed, not the RAM.
Although theoretically the mac intel motherboards could exploit a lower latency timing, we have not seen any Mac compatible 667 MHz SODIMMs shipping yet with a CAS latency lower than 5. The companies that advertise lower CAS latencies are cheating - they are stating the latency at 400 MHz, not 667.
Search these forums for MR member recommendations. Crucial, OWC and
Data Memory Systems are the most-often cited suppliers in the USA. Buyers in Canada, well I hope you can figure out at least one place to check...
Thanks
