Hello everyone, I apologize in advance if there has already been a question about this, but I haven't been able to find anything about it.

I have found that my MBP will put itself to sleep if the power adapter disconnects while I am using it. I am currently using a replacement for my old MBP, which never did this. On the previous model that I had, the screen would just get a bit dimmer when the power adapter was disconnected.

Is this a glitch?

Thanks in advance for all of your help :)

open energy saver pref pane. check your settings for power adapter and settings for battery.
you can set battery optimization to "custom" and specify your prefs. by default it is set to "better battery life" shich is only about a minute of non-use to sleep the screen and about 5 minutes for system sleep.
