Resolved Is this normal? Small lag when opening folders with many files

I'm using a MBA 2012, i5, 128SSD, with ML 10.8.1
After a couple of windows decades, must say this is some great piece of machinery.
Everything is blazing fast, except for one little thing:

- Opening a subfolder (in list view) that has many files (more that 2.000 web images) isn't instant - it lags about 2 seconds. Is this normal?
- Opening any subfolder in the documents folder (even one with few files) also lags about 2 seconds

My documents folder is huge - 10 GB - more than 82.000 elements!

Is this lag normal or should I do some optimization (only the document folder has this lag)?
Moving less frequently used files/folder in another folder might help?

Organise the directory contents into subdirectories if the lag bothers you that much. It will speed things up.

The less files in each directory the quicker it will be.

Thanks for the advice. The lag is so small it doesn't bother at all.

Technology spoils us
After years of PC slowness, in this MBA everything's practically instant. So, any minor lag feels strange

You could also try disabling QuickLook entirely.

Problem solved!

I found out that the issue was in the documents folder.

When I moved the files to another directory, the lag was gone. The lag only affected files in the documents folder.
Using terminal, I removed the documents folder, create a new one and the same exact folders are snappy.
