I just bought a Mac Mini to act as a server for my house, and this is what I'm trying to do, not sure if it's possible but here we go.

My Mini will be used for iTunes serving to my AppleTV, my laptops and also will be used for FTP / User Profiles / Central update server etc.

I would like to have roaming profiles so I can use any mac in my house and have my settings / etc. follow me around, but I also want my laptop that will be taken with me when I leave the house to retain my data on it. (I'm assuming this part is possible)

I want to be able to take my laptop with me wherever I go, and say if I'm out and about and I download some songs on iTunes, and change some word documents etc. when i get back home and connect my laptop to the network I would like all of those files to sync with the server, so that the songs, documents, etc. are available to my other computers and also the iTunes stuff will be available to my AppleTV.

I hope that this makes sense, any information would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Andrew

Sounds like you need a syncing app.

Just search for "sync files" or "sync computers" in the MR forum and there are plenty of threads on them.

You'll need to setup mobile home directorys in OSX Leopard Server..You should buy the Lynda.com OSX Leopard essentials very help full and do a search for apple quick tour of leopard server on iTunes store...also seminars.apple.com has got some good stuff on there...

Also does anyone know how to get a :apple: TV to show up on my leopard server in itunes?
