Hey guys, Is there a way for an app or automator action to do the following...

1) Search for pictures in two different folders that I specify.

2) Find pictures that have the same dimensions.

3) Rename pictures in one folder the same as the picture with the same dimensions in the other folder.

4) Move the newly renamed pictures to the old folder to replace the original ones.

If anyone knows how to make this possible i will be extremely grateful!

Hi,

Yes, that's possible with AppleScript. Not sure about Automator. Look at the scripting dictionary for Image Events, and/or SIPS on the command line.

Thanks! Do you think that this would be better accomplished with one long AppleScript or with a mix of smaller AppleScripts in a automator workflow?

I guess that depends on your situation.

You might find that breaking to down into smaller actions might mean you can reuse some of your actions in future workflows. I guess it depends on how likely you think that is.
