Here's my problem.. and I know it possibly cannot be solved.. but.. maybe..
I need to work on a 10-15k SCSI Drive for my music projects, and the drives I have are connected to my dual G4 tower (with an adaptec dual scsi controller card)
I also do editing and arrangement on my macbook pro.. I would love it if I could access those SCSI drives directly from my macbook pro.. instead of having to save data on the tower, and then transfer it to my macbook pro, etc...too much of a hassle.
My question is, can I connect the macbook pro to the G4 tower via a ethernet cable.. and access the SCSI drives in that manner? Is this even possible? Or, instead of a networking cable.. put the G4 tower in target mode.. and access all the drives via firewire?
I know that the whole purpose of recording on a SCSI drive would be defeated due to the bottleneck caused by the network/firewire .. but I just want to access the drives for data transfer, not to do active work on. Any help..
