Perhaps the perplexites of the decisions made for the new iMac are a hint..............of things to come. Maybe this is not meant to play games at all, as they are readying a smaller tower/gaming machine that has stellar graphics and upgradeability. Perhaps a niche/gamming machine is coming

I agree, im not trying to start a rumor, im pretty much just grasping at straws, to try and improve my mood/perception of the travesty that bestowed itself on us yesterday.

I am simply sad, I wanteda new iMac so bad............but I just cant do it until it gets to rev.B

What makes you think rev. B will be any better? They may upgrade the video card, but by the time that happens the newer video games will require more power anyways. So, you'll still be stuck playing last years games.

yes I see your point, its not so much the games for me, its that that 2600 PRO is less of a card than the 7600 of last year, and I feel its a waste of good money to buy a card that underperforms the previous generations card that is over a year old, when you are buying for the next few years. I like the design and the CPU and the HD, but I sont buy obsolete graphics, im sure they will upgrade them and if they perform better than the 7600 then ill purchase it.

Ok I see what you're grasping at, but are you really a serious gamer? I'm 100% not a gamer at all, but I am interested in picking up Call of Duty 2 and maybe an EA game when it comes out.

And I can tell you right now I'll be more than happy with the performance. I don't need a huge top of the line graphics card because I can't tell the difference anyway.

I don't think that many Mac users are expecting to be able to play these games at the level you're looking at. As far as I'm concerned, it will run, it will run smooth, and it will look good. Obviously Macs are not gaming platforms, but you can play games on them.

If you're looking for a dedicated gaming machine, then build or buy a PC and have a Mac for everything else. If you want a Mac and want to be able to run some games that play smooth, look great, then just buy it.

I just feel like people complain so much about the graphics card, and this, and that, but they don't actually test it to see what it looks like. So what if the benchmarks say this, and the #s say that. It's just a number. It will look fine!

Since Mac's can run Windows, it seems to be all about gaming, there are so many converts forever banging on about gaming gaming gaming.

Some of us, and generally the iMac target market, don't care much for hardcore gaming spec computers, and want to just get on with productive activities.

I'd quite like if Apple didn't attract all these 'never satisfied' gamerzzz and stayed as they are. Integration, productivity, ergonomics.
