My Magsafe is starting to come apart at the end, so i decided to put some tape on and now it stays sturdy, but the question is: Could this be some sort of hazard?

Seeing that there's been reports on this forum of fires starting from the magsafe cord, I'd say YES it's a hazard!

If you can, take it into a Apple Store, your warranty might cover replacement.

Macintoshgeek, all they need to do is give you a new adaptor, no hassle at all. Unless you don't live very close to the store, that is. :p

No, just a 20 minute drive, but seing is how I have school, and it's nearing thanksgiving, so I just don't know when I'll find time.

Take it in. They should replace it no questions asked. I took mine in and got a replacement with only a very small crack just starting.
