That's about right, 50°C for an HD is fine.

Mine never goes above 95ºF. What were you doing to get it that high?

Installed CS4 and iWork... while doing some less intensive stuff like surfing the web.

Called Apple and the guy said it was normal for doing things like installation. Running the HDD, Memory, and CPU all at one time apparently spikes temperatures. I thought it would, but I read somewhere the computer shouldn't go above 130F. Apparently thats fine as well.

He said his computer he was on at the moment was about 160F. So I guess I'm in the clear... but I think I'm going to buy Apple Care just to be completely safe.

I'd hold off on that until your warranty runs out.

Can I ask why you recommend to wait? I have read that in several threads and can't figure out what the difference is in waiting. I was under the assumption that the AppleCare warranty was for three years from date of purchase. So it doesn't seem to make a difference (that I can tell) as to when the warranty is purchased.

Just asking, since I see people say this from time to time...
