Hello guys, my late 2015 27" iMac's screen is damaged. I found someone with a similar one, but we are not sure if they are compatible.

They are both 5k, and mine says:

LM270QQ1 (SD) (B1)

The other says:

LM270QQ1 (SD) (A2)

The other guy says it may not be compatible because (A1) and (A2) are compatible, bit not (B1).

They look the same, they have the same 2 plugs...

I guess the difference is: mine is a late 2015, and the other screen is late 2014/mid 2015.

Please help me out.

In your instance - that LCD should be compatible.

I haven't tested, but it may not let you have two 5k external monitors attached at once. Although that's only a theory I've never tested.
If you were putting a Late 2015 screen on a Mid 2015/14 iMac - then you would run into some resolution issues.

But in your case you should be okay.

Thanks. But they are both 5k, why would there be resolution issues?
I need to know compatibility for sure, because I am ordering it online.

Because Apple loves changing things just for the sake of change.

Mid 2015 using a Late 2015 screen puts the resolution into 4k instead of 5k - my assumption is due to the mid 2015 only supporting 4k on external displays.

Late 2015 doesn't have this issue at all. And supports external displays up to 5k.

So you definitely will be good to order that type of screen for your iMac.

My iMac is from late 2015 and the screen it has is LM270QQ1 (SD) (B1).
When installing the SSD - Nvme the screen was destroyed and I bought a used 2017 iMac screen LM270QQ1 (SD) (C1).
This screen works perfectly, however it has some slight and annoying pink edges.
I am thinking of selling this original screen LM270QQ1 (SD) (C1) to buy on Ebay or Aliexpress the LM270QQ1 (SD) (B1) screen.
