I don't know why but on certain forums like '24hourcampfire', I get a pop up that - Safari can't verify the identity of the website 'second media-d.openx.net'

I always cancel this when asked but what is it and how do I eliminate it? I'm under the impression that if I click on it one time it will stop popping up. It says the website is invalid, I could be connecting to a website "pretending to be 2nd media" and could put my confidential info at risk. Thanks.

After I clicked to post this thread I got another pop up for "ib.adnxs.com site. I may have to take it in to the Apple store for a D&C.

If you want to visit a site that "seems dodgy" without that site being able to "see you", use the Epic Privacy Browser. It will hide your IP address from the site you're visiting by connecting via a proxy.

Do you have an ad blocker installed? If not, this is why you might be seeing these messages: the websites you are visiting are using compromised ad services (CDNs) and you are seeing scam ads being pushed.

Install an ad blocker and see if things improve, before hauling the computer to a Genius appointment.
