I was Reading some news in my country, specifically here: https://canaltech.com.br/smartphone/apple-pode-lancar-um-iphone-se-2-neste-mes-134391/

They said apple could launch a new all screen iPhone SE2 in this march 25 event alongside the ipad mini and the new ipad 2019. so, I come to here to see if there was any news about it, nothing, other sites also have nothing about it, this made me think that or they have said whatever they wanted for views and/or this is not a credible source, or somehow we missed that.

Waht do you guys think?

It’s not happening. There’s nothing indicating whatsoever for hardware leaks, verified sources or any other credentials that ‘iPhone SE 2’ to be launching March 25 or even in 2019 for that matter. Is it possible in the future? Sure. But as for 2019 hardware, it’s not even something that’s a consideration at this point, given the other devices such as the iPad mini, iPod touch, AirPods 2, and the Airpower all expected to launch at some point in 2019, along side the iPhones and maybe a Mac update.

You are correct, in all likelihood. However, I'd just like to point out that when the original iPhone SE launched, nobody knew about it and there were no rumors surrounding its release. None. Just an FYI.

Apple "could" launch a new iRocketShip with iOS powered Animoji dashboard and butterfly keyswitch controls all over too..

:)

They literally "could" do anything..

Disclosure - I'm a total SE evangelist and would LOVE an SE2 to launch!

Not accurate.

Everybody who was paying attention knew it was coming.

I don’t think you know the history of the SE. Let me break it down for you..

None of these speculative posts mention the SE. They talk about a possible 5S-like successor that was suppose to have a curved glass and curves edges as the 6/6S (from the links you provided).

And then Apple refreshed the SE once already, which nobody saw coming.

Well, his third link says this:

“Kuo said Apple's upcoming 4-inch iPhone is "generally dubbed iPhone 5se," but a recent report said the smartphone may actually be called the "iPhone SE." The purported iPhone 5s successor has been given many other names in recent months, including "iPhone 6c," "iPhone 5e," and "iPhone 5s Mark II" internally.”

The analyst definitely missed with the curved glass, but seems like he hit on everything else.

Thats just wrong. All three links say it will look like the 5S, which is exactly what it did. Only the third link mentions a slightly curved display at the edges.

While I’d love to see an updated SE - it’s my favorite iPhone - I don’t think we will at the March event.

That being said, those clearance ones still work amazingly well, and I’m enjoying mine thoroughly.

I read where some were experiencing issues with the battery with the clearance models, but I suspect that’s because some of those batteries have been fully depleted for months, which isn’t healthy for a lithium ion battery. But still, surprisingly to see Apple sell those ‘new’ for such a cheap price.

Having seen several of them from the clearance sale, I haven’t seen any battery issues first hand, nor signs of being refurbished, non-original, or anything similar. My personal SE came out of the box with a dead battery, but battery health is at 100%, and after a full charge I haven’t seen any issues.

I suspect the anecdotal claims of battery issues may stem from the adjustment to what is simply less battery life on the SE than say, the XR or Plus models that many are used to.

Could be for sure.

One thing I really do love about my SE is that the battery charges so fast compared to devices with larger batteries… It really mitigates any longevity issues for me.

I don't want that. One of the good things about the SE is that a tempered-glass screen protector fits seamlessly on the flat screen. That's a problem with all the new ones, you have to risk damaging a bare screen or you have to put on a partial protector that looks horribly ugly.

Have to say, I’d be really surprised if Apple invested in a new Touch ID form factor. I could see them repurposing existing designs (as they did to the SE).

However, even though there’s loads to love about the SE, I really cannot see Apple making a new version of the iPhone 5 body in 2019.

I could see them making a lower cost ‘iPhone 8’ using a screen with haptic touch only, and the processor and camera of the 8 and calling it just ‘iPhone’ (and discontinuing the 8).

I’d love to see them make an ‘XR-SE’ iPhone i.e. an iPhone XR the between the size of a SE/6-8 series, but there’s been absolutely no rumours to that end.

I had a theory that they developed two iPhone XR models from the very beginning. The one we all know about, slightly larger than the XS and another one smaller that would be the successor to the SE. The plan, as I imagined it, would be to release the smaller XR in March so it wouldn’t canabalize holiday sales of the other, presumedly higher margin, phones.

Given there has been absolutely no chatter or leaks about this model, I’d be shocked if we see anything like this in March, if ever.

There’s no ‘problem’ with the new iPhones, Apple actually installs the Belkin screen protectors, which when they do so professionally, you can’t even hardly notice the screen protectors is installed.
