Apple just released the iTouch and iPod Nano in colors... Does this this mean we might see the MacBook Air and maybe even the MacBook Pro in colors eventually? I know Apple has switched through different materials in the past.

I would welcome a return to the colorful Macs of the past.

If there was still a plastic MacBook, I'd wager yes. I don't think so otherwise. It doesn't really fit with the unibody aluminum look and feel.

I think Apple is yet to make a computer that looks as nice as the iMac G3 / iBook clamshell. That was probably my favorite design I've seen from any company ever.

The biggest problem Apple faced with colorful computers were some of the colors sold like hotcakes and they couldn't produce enough of them, and other colors didn't sell at all, plus you need to have a consistent amount of each color at each store, etc. Makes it way too difficult. iPods are different because iPods don't sell nearly as much as they used to and they are smaller which lessens storage, production, and shipping costs.

Those weren't even in the same era; it's off by 10 - 15 years.

EDIT: I stand corrected! I found some PS/2 models lasted into the late 1990s. However, the PS/2 never really took off in the home arena. You'd mostly see a Dell or Gateway 2000 computer in the home. IBM was never known to make a nice design of anything. They made things that are usable and that lasted for years.
