Hi all,

First of all, me and my partner have shared one iTunes account for a while now, so we can share our music, purchased apps etc... all thrugh one account.

Now iOS 5 is released, I found a little snag with iCloud, obviously myself and my partner wanted to keep our photo streams, contacts, calendars seperate... but hwo is this possible with one iTunes account that is shared.

The way I 'think' I have managed to achieve this is by firstly setting up my iCloud account on the Apple ID that we have used for purchases etc....

Then after this, I just set up a new iCloud account via Settings>iCloud on the iPhone, this set-up a new Apple ID xxx@me.com for my partner.

So whilst we are still sharing the same Apple ID for purchases etc.... we effetively have different ID's for iCloud mine being my usual Apple ID (xxx@hotmail.co.uk) and my partners being the new iCloud account which we set-up.

Is this the correct set-up in this setting?

Also will this pose a problem when iTunes Match is released in the UK?

Thanks

James

My wife and I each have a separate me.com account for iCloud and a third iTunes Account for purchases. That way if either of us wanted to change our iCloud setup it does not affect our purchase content sharing. Very easy to share a iTunes Account on all devices. Just put it under the Store settings. Sorry not familiar with Music Match.

I concur, same set up with my wife too. Separate icloud accounts for Contact, Calendars, and email, my old itunes account shared on all idevices (set in the store configurations in settings.)

Doesnt doing this create multiple Apple ID's? For example:

You - Apple ID #1
Partner - Apple ID #2
Shared - Apple ID #3

Thanks

James

My set up is along these lines:

Me - Shared iTunes Account including iCloud (as one account)
Partner - Shared iTunes Account with Seperate iCloud

Will this cause problems???

Thanks

here's how i have ours set up

#1- gmail.com email address we've used for many many years to make purchases on multiple devices
#2- me@me.com email address that i had when we had mobileme...i now use it for iCloud and it is not associated with a purchasing account for iTunes
#3- wife@me.com email address my wife has from mobileme that she uses for iCloud and it is not associated with a purchasing account for iTunes

When we purchase music or an app we use account #1, all iCloud items will be #2 or #3.

The thing that is confusing...if you want to do iTunes match....that's really associated with our #1 account and not our iCloud eventhough they make it seem like it's an iCloud feature.
