Hi,

I have upgraded my Mac Pro 5,1 with 96GB of RAM. While I have the full 128GB, it's my understanding having a config with 6 modules vs 8 modules provides better memory performance (3 channel vs 2 channel).

I populated the slots like so (1,2,3 and 5,6,7):

Is this the correct way to populate the slots to achieve the fastest memory performance?

Yes; in one of my Mac Pros I settled on 3 x 16Gb for this reason. Having bigger total memory is an advantage rarely or occasionally, but having the fastest memory performance is an advantage every moment.
