I was waiting for about a month, before MacWorld, to buy the iPhone. Now that MacWorld is over and no new iPhone. Is this the right time to buy one. I don't want to buy this thing and then in a few months be obsolete. Does anyone have an idea of when they might be coming out with a new one because I want to get one as soon as possible. Help me decide.

Yes! Anything you buy now a days is obsolete in a few months anyway. This phone will be like the others. But I will use it for at least two years.

Rumours have it that Version 2 is coming out anywhere between June 2008, December 2008 or not until 2009. No one truly knows what Version 2 will have or when it will get here.

If you cannot live with 8 gigs, then wait until they offer larger models - which will be at some unknown date in the future. Otherwise, technology moves fast and Apple moves faster than most, so you just have to pick a moment and take the plunge. Now is as good a moment as any.

The iPhone is great right now and, as yesterday proved, they can add functionality to it at any time with a software update (and because iPhones include subscription pricing, the updates will always be free).

The iPhone is already at the top of the list and the hype is still only growing!

With updates and more updates coming the phone can only get better!

IF you buy the phone on contract, would that mean you could upgrade it to the next one at the end of the contract? Maybe that would be an idea?

I think a lot of people are missing the point. It's a iPod with a phone. A great iPod. a great internet device. It's not like the ipod is going to become outdated anytime soon. even when you buy a new iphone or upgrade when this becomes possible, most of the feature will work just fine.

How much space do people need? It's also a PHONE: you can only watch, surf, jam out for so long before you need a charge. I think size of HD will have to coincide with battery power.

If you need a phone, buy it and don't look back. Chances are they will come out with something amazing in the future, that is life. Something to be said about getting on early and taking a long ride with a great product. Plus, the thing is only $400 bucks. Chances are if you can afford to buy one now, you should be able to buy one in the future. Plus, rumor is that 3G iPhone will come at a premium price point. (iPhone pro)

Deliberate ploy!

It is a deliberate ploy by Apple NOT to announce its new arrivals (iPhone II) which would endanger iPhone sales in the next few months. If customers are aware of new arrivals they would definitely postpone their purchase plans which would not only affect Apple but also AT&T and other associated operators.
