I have a 16GB 3GS so far but am not feeling the increase in speed that much. I have a person that wants to give me his 16GB 3G and $125 for mine. Now, the problem is his iPhone is no longer under warranty. Is this a good deal?

Try disregarding the differences of the 3G vs. 3GS and advise me if this is a deal I should take.

Not at all. if you dont need the S sell it on ebay for like 700 at least. You can use that money to buy a new 3g, under warranty. The warranty is huge. If you sell the S on ebay and buy a 3g i can personally guruantee that you will make more then 300, plus you will get a new one under warranty. Whatever you do, do not trade for a used one for low cash and no warranty when you can have a new one with 300 cash and a new warranty. Whatever you do, DO NOT DO THIS TRADE!

Not a good deal, since it's out of warranty. I traded one of my 3gs two weeks after it came out for a 2 month old 3g 8gb and a 6 month old unlocked Storm plus $200 cash. I sold the storm for $300. So I made $500 and kept a like new 3g with warranty.

Your not "feeling" the speed? Are you seeing the speed. Sounds like you never had a 3G phone before! I say DO THE TRADE and post back once you have used the 3G for a day so we can have a good laugh.

I would agree. Unless you REALLY need the money don't do it!

Bad idea, if he offered 400 and the 3G I would say yes. Also keep the 3GS, it is faster from I can see and worth more. When (and if) the next iPhone comes out next summer, you can sell your 3GS on eBay and put that money towards the newer iPhone.

+1. Just becuase someone pissed in his cornflakes this morning doesent mean that he needs to bring you down with him. And good for you on not doing the trade. That's why were here to help

Thank you too!

Also, I was thinking about trading (don't flame me :D) it for a BlackBerry Bold or maybe the new Onyx when it comes out. I think I'll hold some good leverage since the 3GS is still a high resale phone, right?

Yes it is. The amount of cash depends on the phone your getting on the trade. I wouldn't ask for any less than $300

Don't trade it. You will generally get more money by selling it and using the money towards another phone. Another way to increase value on it is to unlock it. Those are selling like hot cakes on eBay. You can easily get 700 for it.

I think you should make the trade too..... for the same reason.
