With the recent jailbreak hacking allegations, I just want to clear something up. I have the 9.3.3 Pangu jailbreak (Used Safari method to install Chinese PP app, uninstalled PP store).

If I reboot the phone and not re-jailbreak with the app, am I in a non-jailbroken state where jail broken code cannot run?

I like to think that when I need a jailbreak app (like tethering) I use the PP app to get to a jailbroken state, and when I'm done, I reboot to an unjailbroken state for security.

Is this true, or can malicious tweaks still run in the non-jailbroken state?

Thanks.

I JB the same way as you and have had zero issues / breaches.

I regularly change my passwords anyway.

The Reddit thread that started his snowball rolling has certainly caused some ripples on this ! That Op thought it may have been something else downloaded onto the computer when they got the tool. Saurik has also made a statement along the lines of a possibility of people using the same passwords to log into multiple sites.

On here a recent post stated they had been hacked only to find out it was his wife who had made a purchase !

If you restart your iPhone then Cydia and your tweaks are all still there and so are all the files. They just won't launch until you use that App to Re JB.

So in theory until a person restores in iTunes to wipe the phone then anything in connection to the JB remains.

Personally I'm not concerned.

Are any other people thinking that if all this was true about people getting money taken(to the best of my knowledge only a handful) that the people doing it are a bit thick that they didn't wait until millions(I guess there are that many) of people jailbroke their phones/iPads and then hit everyone at the same time.

Most of us have PayPal these days so even if they took $50 from 50% of jailbreakers that would be one heck of a pile of money. The way this is 'happening' all they would be doing is scaring people off of using the jailbreak and in turn doing themselves out of money.
