I have a chance to buy a G4 cube for $300 or trade it for my PSP. I was thinking of upgrading the hell out of it (max RAM, dual G4 cpu, high end radeon, bigger HD) and resell it. About how much would I get on ebay, if it's a good idea to do it?

I don't know how much the upgrades cost....but around here cubes are still like....$400 so you could even still make atleast $100

without the upgrades

I would suggest that you do some research on the following:

- Comparable Cube sales on eBay

- How much the upgrades will cost.

- Comparable upgraded Cube sales on eBay.

Then you can see if it is worth it or not.

Personally, I am not a fan of the Cube. It is one of my least favorite Macs ever created. But some hold it in a revered status if you will. See if you can tap into that market to get a premium price.

trade it. no reason to keep the PSP...

I highly doubt upgrading a G4 Cube will be profitable. On the other hand, it seems like a nice little project. I would trade a PSP for a cube any day.

After a little research i found that with the money that I spend on the upgrades I could just buy a complete mac mini setup. I'd rather have the mini than go through the hassle of upgrading and finding a buyer. Thanks for the advice everyone.
