Is VideoDrive the best solution for managing movies in iTunes?

Is the consensus that videodrive is the best, easiest and most reliable way of managing movies in itunes?

I have a number of avi, mkv, dixx movies that I would like to import into itunes. I don't have an apple TV at this point in time so I am more interested in just having all my movies organized.

Some of the programs for managing videos have gotten some bad press (e.g. do a search on iflicks). Is video drive stable? Does video drive still work properly after updating iTunes (E.g. moving from version 7 to 8, upgrading to 8.0.2, etc.)? Any quirks I should be aware of?
 
Actually, I use it all the time, and I am very happy with it. I've had two (minor) problems with it, send a bug report, and both issues were fixed the same day with an update! Impressive!

Now, my biggest complaint with VideoDrive is that it's not the fastest kid on the block. If you use import method 2 it's fast, but the others take their time. Still, the result is great: all my videos nicely ordered in iTunes. Especially the TV show support is great. I know there are other tools out there that convert videos to H.264 faster, but I don't want to convert all my videos. I just want to watch them in Front Row and AppleTV with extra codecs. And for this, VD works fine!

You should look at the results before posting something snarky.

The results of that Google search didn't answer the OP's question (at least not until a few pages in)

And it wasn't that egregious for someone posting to ask our opinions on an application. (That's how I took the question, anyway).

I'm investigating VideoDrive as well, but about the most I can get out of it is that the results are good, even if it takes forever to encode. But I'm looking at this, anyway, which VideoDrive is supposed to work with too.

Converting is indeed quite slow, it uses QuickTime for that. The Turbo.264 is much faster, so I decided to buy one: the new HD version. It's blazing fast but found out this HD version did not work with VideoDrive... until last week. They released a new update and now it works perfectly. The integration is very nice, and you don't have the annoying QuickTime window and bouncing icon anymore.

So, by default I am using import method 4 (because I have an ATV). The things I want to take with my on my iPhone I import with method 6 (using elgato). Works great up until now.
 
VideoDrive 2.0

There does not seem to be a windows equivalent. I did notice VideoDrive 2.0 is about to come out. It has some nice new features and a new interface. Videos do not seem to be opened with QuickTime anymore, so that is a nice one. :)
