While examining my iPhone the other day (I was really bored), I noticed the chrome bezel was slightly off-center.

Looking at the bezel face on, I notice that it's off-center to the right by a fraction of a millimeter. There's a clear gap on the left side.

It's not a big deal for me. I have no plans on returning it for such a petty matter. But I'd like to know if other people are having this issue.

i dont think its the bezzel but more or less the glass because it floats around in there from what i have heard.

My first iphone had that same issue. But i recently dropped my iphone with no case on it and the top of the iphone by the earjack was dented bad. No functions were affected but the looks of the phone were poor. SO i tried to take it back to Apple and they refused to exchange it for me, so I asked what it would cost to fix the casing. They quoted 300 plus 30 for a loaner. I said lets do it. The genius man came back and said your in luck I am giving you a new iphone because i have no loaners for you.
Now my new one has no gap and is perfectly center, the casing also feels like an upgraded material. All in all only the first release Iphone i have seen have the gap and off center look.

Glad to hear Apple fixed this minor problem. As far as the upgraded material goes, is it even more scratch resistant?

I'll hold on to my first gen iPhone until the new ones come out in a year or so. Hopefully by then, we'll have HSDPA, 20+GB, and a todo list app based on GTD.
