every store in the washington dc area is apparently sold out. I believe Cali Hawaii and Nevada were the first to go

My state - which only has 1 apple store - still has iphones in stock (although I'm not sure that's something to brag about). Either it means there are not enough affluent & sophisticated computer users or we're just too poor to buy out stock.

I've seen a thread or two saying that some stores on the Apple site say they are sold out, but when some people go into the apple store knowing they are sold out, they are pleasantly surprised with them getting a shipment in that morning. It hasn't happened to me yet. But I keep trying...

I tried that with the Apple store in St Louis this morning. Site said they were sold out, when I got there they actually were. Of course this is the 4th and I'm sure they aren't getting a delivery today.

I wonder how fast they are going to restock. It seems like it's selling faster than they had imagined

California is sold out?? Last I checked late last night, there was still availability at Valley Fair (San Jose area) and Palo Alto-Stanford. And a couple other places. Like batzmaru, all Maryland/DC/VA stores are sold out. Saw that Pennsylvania had some availability in Pittsburgh and Philly. Not that desparate though...

Vuzie, I saw that too! But about an hour later, all the greens updated to sold out. I've noticed that the availability changes thru the night after 9pm. It seems like it doesnt change much after 11pm.

I was ready to go on a road trip to Palo Alto from LA just for the hell of it! But alas...

Yes, every store in the surrounding DC/Virginia are is out.

Delaware's single store apaprently has them, but I'll wait for my local store to get more.

Yep, California is sold out, as of this morning on the website. Too many young unmarried guys working in tech with alot of disposable income And alot of yuppies..

Apple store in Sherman Oaks, CA said that in a week "you shouldn't have any trouble getting an iPhone".

We shall see!

Utah is out of stock of 8 gigs. We have a few 4's but I'm sure they'll be out soon.
We're supposed to get shipments tomorrow however, and most of the week I believe.

When do you think that Apple will ship more iPhones? I think they should do it by this weekend because we still have loads of people that want to buy an iPhone.

i guess the current unavailability really won't matter since online orders are rumored to start shipping later this week. And a road trip to the nearest stocked store is just silly...
