I never had major problems with freezing, but since the update PhotoBooth just shows a blank screen and iChat hangs if i try to preview video. Seems like something has fried my iSight.

Anyone else experiencing similar issues?

Returning today

I'm sending back my 24" 2.8GHz today (15 days old) and will replace with the same thing.

My iSight is dead (worked when I first got it, then after transfering over files from MacMini, upgrading RAM from 1GB (Apple) to 4GB (OWC) AND updrading to 10.5 - the iSight is now dead.

I got tired of messing with it by phone with AppleCare, so I figure I'll try a new machine and see if it happens again (with old files, RAM upgrade , and OS 10.5).

i had been having similar problems so i set down about 30 mins ago to call apple support right after i had installed the new updates for quicktime and itunes, and i restarted my computer, right as i was about to call i opened my photobooth that hadnt been working and my front row which hadnt been working and iphoto which hadnt been working and everything worked just fine.....i dont know what happened, but it made everything work just fine all of a sudden...dont know if that helps, but there you are....

Further research indicates that there are various problems reported concerning iSight. It's definitely some sort of software issue for me, as iSight works fine in iMovie, and there are myriad troubleshooting suggestions which I'll try when I have the time.

At least I know its not hardware so I don't need to return the machine.

Apple: "It just works". Hmmm. Sometimes.... Having less issues with my Dell laptop at present... :(
